  My family and I were there towards the end of July last year. We had a beautiful tenting spot down by the creek. We were close to the washrooms which were well maintained/clean. It was a pleasant surprise to have a shower that wasn't coin operated. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We were far enough back from the road that traffic noise wasn't really much of an issue. and it certainly isn't any worse then alot of hotels/motels these days. It was a short drive to Hinton and not a terribly bad drive to Jasper. We have a trailer now and definitely won't hesitate to go to Cougar Creek with the trailer as we love the idea of being in a treed area so that your not right up against the next campsite. That was one of the things that drew us in the first place. We had also looked into the KOA which wasn't that far away. We didn't like the fact that every space, especially the tenting area, was out in the open with no break/protection of any kind. The only reason for 4 stars is that, yes the area around the office and playground were a bit messy looking, but I also recognize that some of that had to do with the fact that on obvious effort is being made to improve the campgrounds. I also would have liked to have had a better foot path thru the trees to the washrooms but that is a very minor thing overall.

  We were there last weekend and enjoyed it so much. The hospitality was asstounding, my only regret was we didn't spend enough time. We will most definitely be back! The weather wasn't the greatest the first night, but we were able to enjoy a beautiful fire in the community camp area, and actually met another family camping. Thank you for such a great experience!

  VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. After reading other reviews I am not the only one who is having financial issues when checking out. There seem to be others who are in the process of taking the owner to small claims court and all have had unwanted transactions charged to their credit cards. There was plumbing issues to a cabin I was staying in due to lack of facility inspection and poor property management. According to the Alberta Tenancies Act "It is the landlords responsiblity to ensure the heating, plumbing and wiring work". The owner of the campground is now trying to garnish wages from my employer (who has nothing to do with this issue) for plumbing damages that happened when I went home for days off. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT STAY HERE OR LEAVE A CREDIT CARD ON FILE.
